China announces measures to boost births

BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s state council issued several measures to boost policies that support childbirth and promote a “childbirth-friendly society”, the official Xinhua news agency said on Monday.

The measures include strengthening childbirth and childcare services, increasing support measures for education, housing and employment, as well as actively building a “new marriage and childbearing culture”.
