TSX opens higher on strength in energy stocks

(Reuters) – Canada’s main stock index opened higher on Friday due to gains in energy and real estate shares, while investors assessed domestic economic data.

At 9:31 a.m. ET (13:31 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 42.3 points, or 0.17%, at 24,593.85.
